Norwegians

The school system in Norway may not be so bad?

Who can boast. Well, so can Farsund Aluminium Casting. They were elected to the Engineering Achievement of the Year 2011 (Norway). We read in the Norwegian New Scientist (Teknisk Ukeblad) No. 42/11 that they have developed an advanced molding technology which has given them orders so they are secured being in business for years to come. Engineering knowledge is the basis for this success. Even the high-tech Germans are impressed. CEO and chairman, Roger Cockroft, said that winning this prestigious, Norwegian technology award inspires for further expansion. They are to deliver vital parts for BMW (BMW 3-series and BMW 5 series), Mini, Porsche (Porsche 911 and Porsche Panamera), Mercedes (Mercedes S Class and Mercedes C class), Ferrari, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

Roger Cockroft led an international company from 4 to 20 billion turnover (dollar). In 2007, however, he joined Farsund Aluminium Casting, and he says he is impressed by the Norwegians. He has traveled and worked around the world, but have never met anyone as Norwegians. They are problem solvers and people has a very high knowledge. «I am very impressed with the Norwegian school system,» he says. «We see it here in the company where we have a we-will-try-to-solve attitude, without having to wait for outside experts.»

Let us also mention that the company has worked closely with the company Prediktor in Porsgrunn and Fredrikstad.
